What email is good for
Corrections, particularly ones that quote the sentence and point at the source that contradicts it. Sources worth adding. Questions about something a guide says, or something it should say and does not. All of that is genuinely useful and is the reason the address exists.
What email cannot do
It cannot tell you whether the material in your house contains asbestos. Nobody can do that from a photograph or a description, and that includes me. Asbestos is confirmed by laboratory analysis of a sample collected by a person accredited to collect it, and that is the only answer worth acting on.
So questions of the form “here is a photo of my ceiling, is this asbestos?” will get an honest but unsatisfying reply pointing you at an accredited inspector. If you are planning work that would disturb suspected material, that is the call to make, and it is worth making before the work starts rather than after.
